Audi A4 Design

Aesthetically you’ll notice that it doesn’t look radically different from the current A4. To the uninitiated it could even be passed as a face-lift. But make no mistake that this is actually a brand new car. The overall familiarity of the design is to keep the identity of the A4 intact, you cannot mistake it for any other car and it looks rather elegant in form. The new DRLs look good and edgy. They flank the 3D grille which is in tune with Audi’s new design philosophy.

The shoulder line is quite prominent and runs all the way from the headlamp to the tail lamps. Speaking of which, the tail lamps are new and redesigned as well and the fluid turn indicators have trickled down to the A4 as well. The car looks bigger than it used to yet weighs 95kg less. It sits on 17-inch 5-spoke alloy wheels which add a bit of sporty character and the rubber is 225 section Hankook on all four sides.

Audi A4 Cabin

The new Q7 had set a new benchmark for interiors. The same design has flown into the 2017 Audi A4 as well. The air-con vents extend from the centre console to the co-driver’s door. A large screen is placed above and simple AC controls underneath it. There is a gear knob too, which resembles the Q7. The cabin feels plush and spacious. Then there is the MMI system with its bells and whistles. The quality is at par with other Audi products.

New Audi A4 screenNow, the space? The front row was never a problem. It has always had good knee room and head room even for tall passengers. However, the increase in length of the 2017 Audi A4 means there is more room at the back. Now, tall people can sit comfortably even at the back. The space for the rear passengers isn’t just good but even the seats are highly supportive. They are hard and have a good recline, making it comfortable for long distance trips. Only two people can sit at the back, as the central tunnel intrudes into the space. This is just want Mercedes-Benz has done to the C-Class. The boot space too is larger than before on the 2017 Audi A4.

Audi A4 Performance

The last-gen A4’s diesel was the quietest in the class, and the new engine keeps that flag flying high. It’s really quiet at idle, and though there is a mild grumble at low revs and you can hear the engine when you floor the accelerator, it’s never loud or harsh. In average driving, especially engine and overall cabin noise levels remain admirably low. Check for Audi A4 in quisicilia.com

Performance is really impressive. Sure, its 8.08 second 0-100kph time is well off the BMW 320d M Sport’s launch-control-enabled 7.25 second benchmark figure, but you’ll never feel left wanting for power in the A4. The A4 responds well to even mild taps on the throttle and generally feels peppy and light on its feet. It’s alert at low revs but comes into its element as the engine revs on crossing 2000rpm. The mid-range is strong and if you keep the pedal to the metal, the engine will rev happily to 4700rpm before the electronics step in and upshift automatically. As always, the dual-clutch gearbox is quick in gearshifts and adapts well to your driving style. You can also use the paddle-shifters and the chunky gear lever for manual control of gearshifts.

Audi A4 Rideing

As mentioned, the A4 is available in India in front-wheel drive only. Launch the car hard and you will feel some effects of torque steer and, honestly, it’s not as exciting around the bends as its rivals either. However, you always do get a good feeling of control at the helm and handling is always safe and predictable, which should be enough dynamic prowess for the majority of A4 buyers. You can fine tune the experience to the extent thanks to the four driving modes on offer – Normal, Dynamic, Auto and Individual. Were it up to us, we’d go for the Individual setting and put the steering in Dynamic and engine in Normal.

The compromise brings in the more feel-some steering from the sporty mode while doing away with its mildly jerky low-speed power delivery. The driving modes don’t alter the A4’s suspension characteristics, but the stock setup is rather nice as is. Bump absorption is excellent and the overall ride quality is largely free from that typical firmness we’ve come to expect from European cars. That the suspension does its work quietly is also something that helps maintain the calm in the cabin. If there’s something to bring up, it’s that there is perhaps a bit more up and down movement at triple-digit speeds compared to the petrol engine car. But even so, the A4 diesel feels well damped at all times.

Audi A4 Safety

The Audi A4 features disc brakes with calipers and anti-lock braking system, and electronic stability control program for effective braking and controlling. The Audi A4 specifications for safety include front airbags for the driver and co-passenger, head airbags, and side airbags for the rear seat occupants. The additional safety features include a reversing camera, and parking aid at the front and rear for safe parking of the car.

Audi A4 Verdict

Recommending the new A4 to anybody so far has always included a caveat about the petrol engine. It’s a good engine, no doubt, but comes across as a bit underwhelming for a luxury car. With this diesel engine, the A4 finally gets the power it always deserved. The diesel engine is strong, refined and, with an ARAI-tested fuel-economy of 18.25kpl, promises to be fuel efficient too. In fact, the diesel engine immediately makes the new A4 feel more complete and elevates it in terms of desirability. Also, with a price tag of Rs 40.2- 43.3 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), the A4 35 TDI is competitively priced by class standards. The long wait for the A4 diesel has been worth it.

Audi Q3 Hatchback First Drive

Audi Q3 Overview

There is no doubt in the fact the Q3 is one of the most preferred compact luxury crossovers of the world. Be it its overall dimension, handling capability or the level of comfort the Q3 has been a crowd favorite. Audi recently introduced the Q2 as well which has been positioned below the Q3 and is an equally interesting vehicle. But coming back to the Q3, Audi introduced the compact Crossover back in 2011 and it went on sale in the Indian market in 2012.

In a recent image we can watch Audi already started testing what seems to appear like the second generation Q3. Although the test mule that was spotted in heavy camouflage but the reports states that the next generation Crossover appears to be bigger and longer than the current generation Q3. Although not much details are available at this moment but we have tried to gather all the information available at this moment and providing you our first impression of the next generation Q3. View offers on Audi Cars from Audi dealers in Hyderabad at Autozhop.

Audi Q3 Exterior

Things haven’t changed drastically in this small lil SUV as it still looks more macho than the Mercedes Benz GLA and definitely more enthusiastic than the BMW X1. Audi has given it a mid life facelift and thus it gets certain modern elements but still maintains its earlier charm. At front, there is a crisper looking three dimensional single frame radiator grille sporting new edges around its shape with a contrasting brushed aluminium finish. The streamlined headlamps intrude this arrangement neatly. The fog lamp pockets too have got a new design except for a small change i.e. they no longer feature fog lamps as the headlight cluster gets LED day time running lamps. The creases and contours on the front make it look wider than before.

To the side, everything remains same as before except for new 5 spoke 17 inch alloy wheels. These wheels maintain the edgy theme and look neat compared to the ones offered earlier. The side skirts get a minor change whereas other features and traits are carried over. The Q3 has always looked more appealing than its rivals because it is not a faux looking SUV with fake muscular additions, instead its overall shape and size is properly scaled down from bigger SUVs like the Q5 and even the Q7.There are sequential turn indicators which illuminate within two-tenths of a second at rear with new LED tail lamps, much like the ones offered in their flagship luxury and sport offerings. The rear bumper gets a new shape with a diffuser and chrome layered twin exhaust pipes. Also, buyers can avail the new Q3 in three brand new shades.

Audi Q3 Interior

The interior too remains largely unchanged and continues with the dual-tone black and beige upholstery with Aluminium Tangent inlays. While we have no complaints with regards to the quality of the materials used, the cabin itself feels dated. In terms of features, the baby Audi gets a panoramic sunroof, cruise control, MMI infotainment system with Bluetooth connectivity, electrically adjustable front seats, automatic climate control and rear AC vents. What is really surprising is the fact that we’re in 2018 and the Q3 still doesn’t get even a single standard USB port! Both the front and rear seats are comfortable and offer good support. Headroom is generous in the rear seat while the knee room is limited. Having said this, the cabin can accommodate 4 adults as the transmission hump at the rear seat will make the third passenger feel he/she is uninvited. The 460-litres boot is well-shaped and is class leading.

Audi Q3 Engine

Although no details are available about its drivetrain yet but the reports states that the next generation Q3 might borrow the same drivetrain from the second generation Volkswagen Tiguan. The powertrain range will include both three and four cylinder enginesavailable in both petrol and diesel variant. If the reports are right then the Q3 will get a 2.0 Litre 200 Hp turbocharged engine which will be paired to a 6 speed automatic gearbox however there will perhaps be also an option of a S tronic dual clutch gearbox as well.If everything goes according to plan then Audi might also add a completely new plug-un hybrid system as well which promises to offer excellent fuel efficiency. The Audi sprints from 0-100 km/hr in a claimed 7.9 seconds while returning an average fuel efficiency of 11-12 km/l. The ARAI-claimed figure is 15.17 km/l. The vehicle comes with Audi’s Drive Select which offers 4 driving modes – Comfort, Dynamic, Individual and Off-Road mode. The modes alter the driving experience and Dynamic makes the car feel very responsive while in Comfort it drives in a relaxed manner. Off-Road is good in well, off-road conditions and it is a pretty capable car.

Audi Q3 Driving

he German auto giant hasn’t altered the suspension of the Q3 and it rides and handles the same as before. There is nothing to complain about as the ride is very stable and the SUV soaks up almost every undulation on our roads. It is also fun to drive and takes corners in its stride, of course you cannot expect sedan-like handling but considering it’s an SUV, body control is very good. What’s bad is that the steering lacks feedback. It is very light at low speeds though. However, the brakes do a great job of bringing the car to a halt while the grip from the Bridgestone tyres is excellent.

Audi Q3 Safety

Audi Q3 is equipped with plenty of braking and safety features for driving control and passenger protection. The primary braking of the wheels is operated by the Ventilated Disc front and Solid disc rear brakes. Moreover, this luxury compact SUV is also equipped with advanced braking features like Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD), Electric Braking System (EBS), Traction Control and Electronic Stability Programme.

Furthermore, for the first time, the Q3 compact SUV comes equipped by a Hill Decent Control for additional control while driving on terrain conditions. For passenger care and car security, it also comes loaded with features such as Airbags (Driver frontal airbag, Driver side airbag, Front passenger frontal airbag, Front passenger head airbag, Front passenger side airbag and Rear passenger side airbags), Child proof locks, 3-point inertia-reel seat belts for all seats, Seat belt reminder and Side-on collision protection.

Audi Q3 Conclusion

There are no official words from Audi yet as if when they are planning to launch the next generation Q3 but offcourse it won’t come out in view of the public until next year. You can expect the upcoming Q3 to be lot more styling and in line with the current generation Audi styling while also expect some new things like a new infotainment system and more comfortable seats inside. The drivetrain lineup also looks powerful as well as will focus on fuel efficiency at the same time.
